Geneverse: Home Power 2
The HomePower 2 backup battery power station is the first emergency power supply designed specifically for the modern home. With an emergency power supply lasting up to 7 days, Geneverse is the reliable source of energy you can count on if disaster strikes by keeping vital home appliances and devices running without interruption. It can also power critical medical devices, power tools, and communication devices in the event of a power outage or emergency.
In a category of power tool styling - the Home Power 2 was designed to be a device that could proudly be stored and used in the home.
A new tower architecture was developed which takes up less square footage in the home and make accessing and moving the device easier. The Huge team developed a new design language to express intelligence, modern technology, and to fit in a variety of interiors. As the project lead, Patrick developed the product from initial ideation to production.

A backup power station designed with the modern home in mind
The HomePower 2 was designed to bring the backup generator into the modern home through a sophisticated design language, new form factor, and clean electric energy. The vertical tower architecture is more friendly for using around the home and keeping counter space clear. The device was designed to fit into a variety of homes and to proudly be stored in the living space - not the garage.
A fresh design language based on precision and pure geometry
The design language of the Home Power 2 was developed to express the intelligence inside the device while feeling at place in a variety of modern homes. Pure geometry, controlled proportions, and precision details work together to create a tech forward design. The architectural vertical stance and neutral metal color palette appeal to modern interiors.
Seamlessly integrated carry handle
The top carry handle seamlessly integrates into the form. This element being located at the top of the device requires the user to reach down less to access the handle. The handle also serves as unique and memorable brand moment.
LED light bar for ambient light and battery notifications from a distance
The Home Power 2 features a discreet 360 degree colored LED light bar that acts as an ambient light for dark environments and also provides battery notifications that the user can see from across the room.
Delightful details - sliding port protection door
A premium sliding door acts as a protective dust cover for the charging ports located on the back of the device. This component also acts as a location for product specification details.
Mobile wheel cart accessory for easy movement around the home
The magnetic wheel cart can be easily attached to the device by simply placing the generator on top of the wheel cart. The device can then be rolled around the home for easy transportation. This cart hides the casters from view and is designed visually integrate into the device as an extension of the base.

Designed for manufacture and efficient airflow management
A custom internal layout was created to accommodate the new vertical architecture. The batteries were located in the bottom housing to create a low center of gravity for stabilization. Air comes in from the bottom and is exhausted out the top in order to cool the whole device.
Backup power meant to live in the home - not the garage.
The Home Power 2 can be stowed away in a closet, corner, or next to the media center. The neutral color way and modern designed is meant to fit into a variety of interior styles and to be displayed proudly.
Solar panel accessory for clean energy harnessing
The Huge team was tasked with updating the visual design language of the Geneverse foldable solar panels. The design language pulls cues from the main device so that the accessories create a family of form with the main device.
Power the home
The Home Power 2 can charge a variety of accessories in case of power loss or devices that do not have access to a traditional outlet.
